What Season Are You In?

November 2023
In the past few weeks here in Alabama (RTR!), we’ve had “fake fall”, “second summer”, a “brief encounter with winter” (oh, that was cold) and now “second fall”, not to mention, no rain.
One morning while sitting on my front porch, I took this pic. I love the fall season, everything about it. Now this tree in my yard looks very different than when I first took this pic. Most of the leaves have turned and fallen. I could have raked those leaves, which would have taken a minute. So I decided to mulch the leaves and ended up mostly just mulching dirt, due to it being so dry.
Regardless of the weather, changes in the weather, no rain, etc., this tree knows it’s season. Yes, I know that’s real deep and we could camp out here for a while.
We are all in a season and are probably at different seasons. Some seasons bring challenge, some opportunities, some growth, some great success, some new life, and some moments that may seem like there is no change at all (but actually there is).
Leadership, coaching, and mentoring is a lot like the seasons of this tree. As leaders, being mindful of the season that we are in and the seasons of those around us allow for greater success and fulfillment in our lives daily. Y’all we are not on this cruise ship, called life, alone. Impact someone in a positive way, you never know when you just might be the season someone else needs.
What season are you in?
So, remember to motivate-influence someone in a positive way today, be someone’s “red door”, enjoy the leaves, maybe help someone in their season, and watch out for dragons. Confession…I actually ended up with some cowboy boots, but no cowboy hat yet. #bestlife50
